About Us

Dance Classes are held  on a weekly basis mid-August until the end of May

Our highly qualified instructors have been dancing, performing on stage, dancing in commercials and teaching for years. All of our teachers are strong in their backgrounds and continue their training in local and national workshops, training from Showcase Dance Centre, and other studios around the country such as Broadway Dance Center in New York.

Our teachers are here to help your child improve in her skills, teach her the technique, grace, and poise of a dancer. Most importantly, students are encouraged to have fun and enjoy their time learning the art of dance. You can watch your child's progression through our observation windows. No matter who your teacher is at Showcase Dance Centre, you can rest assured you are getting top quality education.

Jennifer Schillo

Owner/Director/Instructor - Jennifer has been taking dance since she was a young child. She has been trained locally and nationally in all areas of dance, taking classes from world renowned instructors and choreographers. Most recently she has had the opportunity to take classes with Napoleon & Tabitha D'umo, Mia Michaels, Tyce Diorio and Andre Fuentes. She continues to take classes yearly in New York City at the Broadway Dance Center and at regional workshops to stay current on her technique and current dance trends. Schillo' s also works include choreography for the Southpark Christmas Tree Lighting and a benefit concert to benefit Bundles of Joy, a charity that raises money for Presbyterian Hemby Children's Hospital and Hemby Intensive Care Nursery. Jennifer has an extensive background in competitive dance and enjoys cultivating young talent.

Sarah Barnard

Instructor - Sarah Barnard is the Creative Director of Wingspan Dance Co. She is originally a native of Auburn Alabama but has made her way to Charlotte, NC through education and pursuit of her passion of dance. She started dancing at age 8 in ballet and then progressed into modern dance at age 15 and has continued to add other dance styles to her collection, including American Tribal Style (ATS) belly dance and a few hip hop grooves. While training and the continuous gathering of skills, she has also been teaching ballet for 6 years in various places and enjoys helping others pursue the passion of dance. Sarah has a B.A. in Technical Theatre from Auburn University and a B.A. in Dance from Appalachian State University. She has always pursued her passion for dance though various ways by creating opportunities to perform and choreograph where there was not one before. She has composed small dances and showings in a college department that did not, at the time, have a dance major, created work outside of curricular studies and maintained performances though college and outside of college. She has danced for Ancient Moon Belly Dance in Boone & Asheville, NC and in Charlotte, NC for The Wanda Project, Kinetic Works, and Camerin Watson.

Lori Evangelista-Marshall

Instructor - A native of upstate New York, Miss Lori has lived in the Charlotte area for over 15 years. She has been dancing since the age of 5, and has studied many genres of dance under the guidance of Charline Topor as well as many instructors in the NY area. She continues to take classes at conventions and workshops to stay current with dance trends. She has been instructing in the Charlotte area for more than 10 years and has been recognized for her choreography at many competitions. She has an associate’s degree in Graphic Design and is a Certified Personal Trainer who has a passion for health and wellness.

ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, Acrobatic Arts Certified Instructor and CIZE Live Certified Instructor.

Parks Drake

Instructor - Parks was born in Matthews, North Carolina. She has been dancing at Showcase since she was three years old, dancing for the competition and recreational teams. Since her senior year of high school, she has had the privilege of teaching the younger generation of Showcase dancers. She is currently attending college and enjoys singing, acting, and photography, whenever she is not dancing.

Ashley Moore

Instructor - Ashley was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. She began dancing at age 3 and competed with the competition company at Showcase Dance Centre for most of her dancing career. Ashley is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Charlotte with a degree in dance education, and is currently finishing up a graduate degree. Throughout her dance career, Ashley has traveled to New York City, Tennessee, and South Carolina for classes, workshops & conventions with top industry professionals. Ashley has won numerous overalls with her tap solos at many dance competitions. She has extensive work with young children in dance as well as in a preschool setting.

Jessica Stewart

Instructor - Jessica Stewart began her life as a dancer at the age of 5 in Asheville, North Carolina, where she studied a variety of dance techniques including ballet, pointe, tap jazz, lyrical and modern dance. She obtained her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in dance and choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in May 2011, where she actively performed for both graduate students as well as faculty members while developing her own choreographic identity. As a performer, Jessica is currently a member of Wingspan Dance, directed by Sarah Barnard, as well as Taproot, co-directed by Brianna Smith and Camerin Watson. She has also worked with Wanda Ebright of The Wanda Project and Martha Connerton as a member of her dance company Kinetic Works. She has been involved as a performer and/or choreographer in the Greensboro Fringe Festival, the Atlanta Fringe Festival, and numerous performances throughout North and South Carolina. Thusfar her most rewarding dance experience has been the opportunity to perform at the 2012 Democratic National Convention which was held in Charlotte, North Carolina.
