We offer beginner - advanced instruction in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, Pointe, Acrobatics. We begin with our youngest students at age 3 in our ballet, tap and acrobatics combo class and classes for all ages through young adults. We even offer an end of the year Dad's dance in our yearly recital!
Showcase Dance Centre's classes are held on a weekly basis from mid-August to May/June, in addition we also offer summer classes for students. Each year students and staff put on our annual recital in the spring. All students are invited to participate in our recital at the end of the season. This showcases all dancers, both recreational and competition students, performing routines and skills they have learned throughout the dance season.
We believe that ballet provides a solid foundation for dance education, while encouraging our dancers to be well rounded and experience a variety of dance styles.

We are pleased and excited to announce that Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Lori are both certified in Acrobatic Arts. The Acrobatic Arts training and certification course provided extensive information on proper placement and technique, along with hands-on training in spotting and progression. This will teach students to have the building blocks to progress safely and quickly from one level to the next.
"Cirque du Soleil sees acrobatic training for dancers valuable in the same light as it sees ALL multidisciplinary training for dancers valuable for today's (and tomorrows) artistic workforce. To work in the dance milieu today, mastering several disciplines is almost a necessity; for Cirque du Soleil multidisciplinary is an absolute must for the majority of the dance roles.
It is not necessarily acrobatic training that would be needed for most Cirque du Soleil dance roles, but for some it is a definite requirement. For other roles it is a mix of opposing dance styles needed, dance + physical acting, dance + acting + acrobatics or some other physical non-dance discipline. In the global dance market today, however, an acrobatics background is a huge asset, and some cases actually a minimum prerequisite.
Having universal certification standards would help immensely in measuring where a dancer stands on the global market before actually watching them dance. Teaching standards at the moment are random - which is why I usually do not even consult a CV before watching a video job application. The proof is in the pudding - exactly what can the dancer do, and how well? A universal standard would help control the quality of teaching as well as help students advance to the next level of their dance education only when they are ready for it. Advancing to a level above one's capacity can be not only dangerous, but can actually have negative effects on technical training. It can cause a student to regress instead of advance."

During the 2020 pandemic Ms. Jennifer became certified with Alixa Flexibility taking international online zoom classes. We are very enthusiastic to begin our journey with introducing this method with our students. The Alixa Flexibility Method works with all levels of abilities & ages, building a solid flexibility foundation with the focus on injury prevention and safety.
Creator: Alixa Flexibility Method
Alixa is a former rhythmic gymnastics trainer and a contortion trainer for circus, as well as a former performer and circus artist. She developed her techniques for teaching flexibility after seeing so many athletes have to quit from injuries due to improper stretching or lack of stretching. Alixa created her program with a unique blend of non invasive stretching
techniques from studies of circus techniques from various countries, sports physical therapists, Pilates, sports doctors, Kinesiology studies, and working with thousands of students from different sports. She is constantly creating new material based on emerging studies - evolving her techniques to suit people's current lifestyles and changing bodies.
Alixa has worked for Cirque du Soleil as a choreographer, trainer and creator, Cavalia as an equestrian performer & flexibility trainer, as an independent swinging trapeze solo artist & aerial contortionist, and is the creator of the Mystic Pixies Contortion troupe. Now she lives in Ukraine and travels all over the world giving courses and lectures.
She has given seminars or workshops for the USA National Gymnastics Congress, Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Alberta Gymnastics Congress, Le Ecole National du Cirque, US World Championship Vaulting Team, Ontario Gymnastics Coaching Congress, BC Synchronized Swimming Association, Alberta Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, USA National Rhythmic Team, NB Synchronized Swimming Association, Canadian Vaulting Association, Alberta Tumbling & Trampoline Association, American Youth Circus Organization, and hundreds of individual facilities & studios.
