Competition Dance

While most students attend dance for recreation, we also offer competitive dance for ages five through adult who attend additional classes to further their dancing at a competitive level.

Showcase Dance Centre's Competition Company is an amazing group of students who are passionate about dance and performing! SDC competition members participate at regional and national dance competitions. Some of the Showcase Dance Centre achievements are Regional and National Top Overall Winners, in addition to Precision, Choreography, Technique, Performance and Costume Awards!

Auditions for the competition company take place each year at the end of July or beginning of August. All students are encouraged to audition. Please ask about more information.

Competition Audition: Saturday, August 6th, 2022

Please note that auditions are by your age at the time of your audition and not your level. Groups are determined on your ability, not age.

You are required to do a ballet audition to determine placement. Arrive 30 minutes early to stretch and fill out auditions forms.

Ages 5-8 Tap: 9:00am-9:30am

Ages: 5-8 Jazz/Lyrical: 9:30am-10:00am

Ages 5-11 Ballet: 1:00pm-1:30pm

Ages 5-11 Hip Hop: 2:00pm-2:30pm

Ages 9-12 Tap: 10:00am-10:30am

Ages 9-12 Jazz/Lyrical: 10:30am-11:00am

Ages 12 and up Ballet: 1:30pm-2:00pm

Ages 12 and up Hip Hop: 2:30pm-3:00pm

Ages 13 and up Tap: 11:00am-11:30am

Ages 13 and up Jazz/Lyrical: 11:30am-12:00pm

We are so excited that your dancer is interested in the SDC company! At each audition there will be a short segment for or either across the floor/at center, and time to learn a short combination (2-4 counts of 8)

All students are required to do a ballet audition to determine placement.
